5th MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE OF EURO-AFRICAN DIALOGUE ON MIGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT
The Fifth Euro-African Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development kicked off on the 2nd May in Marrakech, at the Palmeraie Conference Center, with the participation of ministers and high-level officials from more than 50 countries. The Euro-African Dialogue on Migration and Development is aimed at tackling questions arising from migration issues. The Rabat Process provides a framework for consultation and coordination; contributes to meeting the challenges posed by migration; and encourages opportunities for exchange and development.
The minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita, also announced that the city of Marrakech will host two major events within seven months, namely the annual meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development, which will be co-chaired by Morocco and Germany, as well as the conference to adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
